"There are a total of 48 banner designs, and all are
part of a temporary public art project called "Mum's
the Word,"reference to the aphasic's frustrating inability
to communicate. Cambridge-based artist Ellen Driscoll turned
herself into a translator, spending hundreds of hours over
the last year with 11 volunteers from the Aphasia Community
Group, which meets monthly at Bostons Spaulding Rehabilitation
Hospital. The banners are on the Mass. Avenue, Western Avenue,
and John F. Kennedy bridges across the Charles, through September,
and at Bostons City Hall Plaza through Monday."

the divided mind" Living Arts Section, The Boston Globe,
